Revised Parental complaints Procedure 2024
Beaumont Boys’ School Parents’ Association
Beaumont Boys School has a pro-active and engaged Parents’ Association (PA) of which every parent/guardian is a member. The PA Committee meets about once a month to discuss initiatives, developments, any issues and planning of events. We operate a friendly volunteer WhatsApp group. Each Class has its own active WhatsApp group with PA messages shared by its Class Rep. Our ask is that every parent help out or join us for one hour at least. This shares the work, greatly benefits the school community and your sons school experience, extending your knowledge of the school and building connections between parents.
If you are interested or wish to help the committee or if you are available to help at an event we would be delighted to hear from you. Drop us mail at PA @beaumontboys.ie
Your committee elect for 2022/2023 school year:
Chairperson: Mags Cronin
Treasurer: Gillian
Secretary: Emily
Please check your Aladdin Calendar for the Next Meeting of your Parents Association. Meetings are usually held in the school staff room as well as via a Google Meets link. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Beaumont Boys’ School Parents’ Association Annual Activities
PA Reception for Parents of Junior Infants
As always, the school year kicks off with a busy first day back and parents/guardians of the Junior Infants are invited to the Halla for a tea/coffee reception and chat. For any new parents it’s a way of getting to know others and staying close to their little boy in case of emergency. The first day is often more traumatic for the adults than the new pupil!
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Parents’ Association AGM takes place each October. All parents/guardians are asked to attend the AGM and meet the newly elected members of the Parents’ Association Committee, ask questions, share any concerns/suggestions, volunteer to help at the various events throughout the year or become members of the committee.
Informative Talks via the NPC
Please follow the PA Facebook page for links to to various topics that may benefit the parents of our school.
Annual Bingo Event and Various Fundraising Initiatives
Christmas Fayre Café or Christmas Fun Day
The annual Christmas Fayre has been one of the most popular events in the School calendar and is always hugely attended. However in recent years we have filled the gap with an exciting Christmas fun day. We reach out for sponsorship to our local business community and this is always greatly supported along with parents contributions. Which is much appreciated. A giant raffle is held throughout the day every every boy has a ticket. The P.A provide hot chocolate and treats for each boy, Paid for by fundraising through the year.
Student Christmas Cards
One of the annual fundraising activity is the annual student designed Christmas cards. A subcommittee starts as early as Oct to get class numbers to the card printing company. Templates are returned and parents distribute to each class with a pre printed design for the Infant classes to colour in. The older boys design and colour their own. These are collected and sent to the printer who creates a sample of each this is useful for family’s that may not wish to purchase and for those that do order get to see the sample and correct any errors with the name or class. In 2022 for convenience Orders and payment were facilitated via Aladdin. The sub committee distribute the cards to each class once received in time for posting around the world. The PA is very appreciative to the parents that run this initiative.
Communion Reception
The PA provide a reception for First Communicants and their families. It’s a community affair as parents and Volunteers make cakes and sandwiches, decoration of the church hall and serve tea/coffee to all. The reception is for everyone who participated in the mass to relax over a cup of tea and chat to other parents. We also organise a Photographer to attend in a back room so family’s can book in advance and get photos organised.
School Sports Day
Each year the PA operates a tuck shop. Parents turn-up by the dozen to cheer on the boys and enjoy the day.
Graduation Mass
The PA presents a special memento to each 6th class pupil at the Graduation Mass in June. This is a particularly moving ceremony marking the end of the boys’ 8 happy years in Beaumont and the end of the cycle of the PA’s involvement with them. It seems like such a short while ago that we celebrated their first day at “Big School” with their parents in the Halla. As the boys prepare to discover new horizons, we remind ourselves that in little over two months time, our work starts all over again!
Second Hand Uniform Sale
Twice a year we collect used school uniforms from parents and sell them at a nominal cost. This also allows us to keep a supply of spares in school should a student require a change of clothes. Usually Oct & May we collect the Uniforms at the school gate and a few days later sort and sell in the school halla. For 2023 the students council have initiated a collection used sorts wear & sports gear alongside the uniform sale. This will raise funds for the councils activities and we are delighted to support.
Annual Summer BBQ
Look out for the usual PA tuck shop, food and drinks stall at the School BBQ. And remember, as well as selling supper & tasty treats, all proceeds from the tuck shop go towards school equipment for the benefit of the boys.
