The Beaumont Boys Chess Club takes place after school on several days each week and provides pupils with a supportive and stimulating environment to develop their chess skills.
The children learn a wide range of strategies, including openings, tactical combinations, middle-game planning, and endgame techniques, and they regularly compete against one another in friendly matches to apply and refine these ideas. Through weekly games, guided reflection, and shared analysis, the pupils show excellent progress in their strategic thinking and problem-solving, demonstrating how their understanding of the game continues to evolve.
The club is an active member of the Ficheall Association, and all students participate in Ficheall chess competitions throughout the year, where we have performed extremely well in recent events.
